Religious Education

Queenship of Mary Religious Education Program strives to provide the youth of our parish (Pre-K through 8^th level) continued information about and experiences of our Catholic religious beliefs and traditions. The program provides and promotes age-appropriate experiences for the students, which will foster in them “a living, conscious and active” faith, in conjunction with the parish community and the church.

The Religious Education program of Queenship of Mary Parish is committed to much more than quality religious education for the students. The commitment extends to the ongoing faith life of the parents and guardians, who are the primary educators of their children. Faith is something that is ‘caught’ rather than ‘taught’. Classroom learning informs and reinforces what the children are experiencing in their home life. Parents are encouraged to participate in adult faith formation opportunities related to the sacramental preparation of their children as well as other adult workshops and family programs as they are offered each year. The program is available to ALL parishioners regardless of race, gender and/or financial circumstance.

Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist usually begins in the first grade, while preparation for Confirmation begins in the sixth grade.
